The short answer
Planable is built for teams passing content back and forth: approvals, comments, seeing the post exactly as it will appear, version history. If content has to be reviewed before it goes out, Planable is genuinely good at that and Convia does not do it at all.
Convia is built for the person whose name is on the content. It starts from a recording, your back catalogue, a set of tags, or nothing but a stated intent, and produces the campaign, rather than giving you a clean surface to review posts somebody already wrote.
Planable is a collaboration layer over content. Convia is where the content comes from.

The first content team I worked with used Planable, and we collaborated in it. It genuinely worked. Approvals were clean, comments stayed attached to the right post, and seeing the content the way it would actually look mattered more than I expected.
What it did not have was any sense of who I was.
Every post started from an empty box. Someone on the team would draft, I would comment, we would iterate, and the tool held all of that carefully. But the tool knew about posts and approvals. It did not know about my show, my guests, my topics, or the fact that I had already made this point better four months earlier. There was no content management underneath it and no intelligence behind it.
It was a very good surface with nothing behind the surface. That is fine if you have a team generating the content. It is a problem if the team is you.

What Planable does well
- Sign-off and scheduling in one place. Content that has been approved goes out from where it was approved, so there is no second system to move it into.
- Version history. Knowing what changed and who changed it.
- Nobody has to learn it. The people who approve content are rarely the people who want another tool to understand. Planable is easy to walk into, and that is a large part of why it gets used.
- Client-facing collaboration. For agencies presenting work to clients this is the core value, and it is done well.
